Liquid Filters for the Production of Ethanol-based Sanitizers and Cleaners

Updated: Oct 20, 2020

Covid-19 has seen a drastic increase in the demand and production of surface cleaners and hand sanitizers that are alcohol-based and contain more than 60% ethanol.

Ethanol is a natural byproduct of plant fermentation and also can be produced through the hydration of ethylene. It's a form of alcohol that is a clear and colorless, and is the principle ingredient in alcoholic beverages like beer, wine or brandy. Because it can readily dissolve in water and other organic compounds, it's also used in a wide range of products from personal care and beauty products to paints, varnishes and fuel.

Effective filtration in ethanol production leads to higher plant efficiency and lower energy costs. In the U.S., Graver has joined the fight to help keep the world safer and is working closely with several companies that are busy making surface and hand sanitizers, where Stratum A and TPE Filters have been rushed to companies producing ethanol based cleaners for police, fire, postal workers, hospitals and homeless shelters. The Stratum A Series Melt Blown Filter Cartridges boasts absolute retention ratings from 0.3 to 100 microns, and is made from 100% pure virgin polypropylene. It's suitable for the cosmetics, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries, among others.

The TPE Titanium Filter Cartridges are constructed entirely of sintered titanium or 316L stainless steel powder, designed for applications involving heat, gases, aggressive chemicals, cryogenics or polymers. Options of 0.5 to 100 microns available. Click on the links above to download the product datasheet, or contact us for a quotation.
